Savignac-sur-Leyze · Lot-et-Garonne
A south-western French manor house among fields, orchards and the Leyze valley.
Discover the Manoir ↘Arrival
There are places one visits. And there are places one enters – and senses that they have already been waiting for us.
Manoir Comté stands on a hill above the Leyze valley. Natural stone, pale façades and clear lines meet a landscape of meadows, fields, woods and orchards.

Arrival & architecture
The final kilometres to the Manoir change your sense of pace: roads narrow, bends soften, and the view slows between fields and orchards. The house does not feel staged; it seems a natural part of its hill.
In 2026, Manoir Comté was renovated with great care and sensitivity. Its local stone walls, historic timber beams and generous proportions were preserved, while a modern kitchen, bathrooms and technology were added discreetly.
The road narrows. The day loses speed.

Tradition meets modernity
Original stone walls, timber beams and generous proportions tell the story of the house. Modern technology, the kitchen and bathrooms appear wherever they make life more comfortable.
“History is not merely observed here; it is lived – and therefore remains alive.”
Rooms & way of life
The bright salon gathers conversations, the modern kitchen gathers aromas and the large table gathers people. High rooms, wood, natural stone and art give the house its calm, liveable generosity.

La cuisine, le cœur de la maisonRooms & atmosphere
The salon invites company without demanding it. The kitchen gathers aromas and movement; the long table gathers people. Wood, stone, colour and light give the rooms warmth without weighing down their generosity.
Retreat is part of the house too: a window onto green, a place to work and quiet corners make room for reading, writing and thought.
Cook. Read. Be together.
Antiques · Design · Art
At the Manoir, antiques from different periods meet clean lines, classic lighting and selected works of art. Nothing behaves like an exhibition – these objects belong to life in the house.

“History is not merely observed here; it is lived – and therefore remains alive.”

Rugs, tables and chests carry patina and provenance into the light-filled rooms.
Clean lines and selected lighting form a quiet counterpoint to the historic architecture.
Sculptures and singular objects give the rooms depth without turning them into exhibition spaces.
Art, patina & pleasure
At the Manoir, antiques and art are not displayed like exhibits. They belong to daily life: furniture bears its patina, paintings preserve memories, and individual finds give the rooms depth. History is not merely observed here; it is used, and so stays alive.
This lived-in elegance also means a book by the window, hats ready for the market and a glass of wine before a cool stone wall.
History is not simply observed here; it is lived with.

Four bedrooms
“The bedrooms tell their story more quietly.”
Natural materials, gentle colours and views of the landscape create privacy and rest. Bed linen, extra pillows and blankets, and four bathrooms are part of the house.

Pool, garden & terraces
The private heated outdoor pool lies between old trees and natural stone. Three terraces open onto the morning light, afternoon shade and sunset.
Pool, garden & terraces
The private heated pool is set among terraces, mature trees and more than a hectare of natural grounds. At midday it belongs to movement; by evening its surface takes on the colours of the sky and becomes still.
Three terraces give the day different places: morning coffee, afternoon shade and long conversations in the last light. At night the pool becomes a second depth beneath the stars.
Water mirrors the sky.
Amenities at the Manoir
The amenities follow the house book and the Airbnb listing: generous, complete and designed for the shared life of up to ten guests.

The hill carries the house,
the stars carry the night.
Far from larger towns, night becomes a space of its own – quiet, expansive and dark enough for the stars.

An evening at the Manoir
As the heat of the day recedes, the terrace becomes a quiet lookout. First the horizon glows; then the moon rises above the old trees.

La vie à la campagne
Around Savignac-sur-Leyze, plum trees, hazelnuts, walnuts, vines, wheat and sunflowers mark the rhythm of the seasons. This is the quiet, culinary South-West between Bordeaux and Toulouse.
Le Lot-et-Garonne

Cahors, Buzet, Bergerac and the Côtes de Duras each tell a different story in the glass.
Plums, nuts and orchards shape the fields, markets and cooking of Lot-et-Garonne.
In winter, the earth’s quiet treasure appears in the markets and kitchens of the region.
Monflanquin, Pujols, Villeréal and their arcades are close enough for an unhurried half-day.
Savignac-sur-Leyze & Lot-et-Garonne
Lot-et-Garonne does not have a showy beauty. Its strength lies in gentle hills, orchards, small woods and fields that change colour with the seasons. Savignac-sur-Leyze rests quietly between Bordeaux and Toulouse — rural, yet connected.
Sunflowers, walnut trees and open landscapes shape the view from the Manoir. The surroundings invite you to discover markets and bastides, then return to the hill in the evening.
A land of green and gold.
Landscape & surroundings
A good excursion from the Manoir needs one clear focus. Those who do not overload the day see more: old lanes on foot, coffee beneath the arcades and time for an unexpected turning.

Arcades, right-angled lanes and expansive views offer a beautiful introduction to the medieval bastide.
A quiet village of old gateways, churches and views across the valley – small enough to explore without a plan.
Place Lafayette, bridges and riverside paths bring history together with the everyday life of a South-Western town.
The Lot and Dordogne lead to bridges, old streets, markets and two distinctly different wine landscapes.
The two cities are an urban counterpoint to the quiet of the house – making the return to the hill all the more welcome.
There is no need to connect everything. One may simply choose.
The hill remains the quiet centre: a place from which to discover the region and return to the Manoir in the evening.
